SHEILA SHOCKER: IT'S PHYLLIS!
On the Monday, Oct. 23 episode of Y&R, viewers will learn that Sheila stole Phyllis' identity when she underwent plastic surgery earlier this year.
"You see Phyllis, who's supposed to be Sheila, dead on this slab," previews Michelle Stafford, who plays the real Phyllis.
The audience will see the dead body in a photograph that Paul produces to assure Lauren and Michael that Sheila can never harm them again. Lauren is relieved, because she was convinced the nurse with nine lives was going to return to take her baby.
Why did Sheila choose Phyllis' identity? "That is a question more for Sheila than for me," deflects EP/HW Lynn Marie Latham.
As for whether Lauren's archenemy is really dead, "Sheila is a phoenix that rises from the ashes." hints the exec. "That's part of the core of this character. It would be very difficult for the audience not to expect her return."
Does that mean this pregnant Phyllis we're watching is really Sheila? If so, where's the real Phyllis?

Phyllis & Nick's Wedding Disaster
Nick and Phyllis get married in the 'spur' of the moment this week on Y&R.
"It's goofy and fun," previews Michelle Stafford, who throws on a cowboy hat instead of a veil as the bride. When the bar owner's barn goes up in flames, "Nick leaves to put out the fire. Then they come back and Nick is all smokey, like a 'real man.'"
The wedding begins. "It's two people who are in love," says Stafford. "They don't care about a big wedding. They just want to be with each other. The vows are sweet."
The ceremony goes off without a hitch (no, Sharon and Jack don't bust in), "and then they go to the Newman jet and make love all night long - while she's pregnant with her big belly," laughs Stafford.
What's next for the happy couple?
"Problems will ensue, won't they? winks Stafford.
Especially if Sheila/Phyllis isn't really dead.

WHO KILLED CARMEN?
The opening of Indigo turns into a bloody Mesta this week on Y&R, when Carmen is found murdered.
Everyone is gunning for Carmen as the week begins, especially Dru, who's facing jail time for violating the restraining order. "There's no way she's accepting a plea bargain," asserts Victoria Rowell. "Michael comes by the apartment and she's like, 'Under no circumstances am I accepting a deal. I will be exonerated.'"
Meanwhile, back at Newman Enterprises, Carmen discovers Jack is the mastermind behind House of Kim and now owns Jabot. When Jack tries to get rid of her by relocating her to Hong Kong, she refuses.
Elsewhere, Brad and Victoria fear Carmen has discovered the truth about his past and could be a threat. Sharon jumps on the anti-Carmen bandwagon when she accuses her of crossing the line with Neil long before Dru crossed the line with her. Even Victor gets caught in Carmen's clutches when she announces she will leave Genoa City - if Newman buys her contract.
"At this point, we're up to 13 suspects," tallies EP/HW Lynn Marie Latham.
Despite the looming Carmen cloud, Dru and Neil proceed with the opening of Indigo. "It's fantastic," promises Rowell. "Aaron Neville is the guest artist. A lot of the Genoa City royalty shows up. Dru has never missed a beat in terms of her dedication to Neil. She's a 'stand by my man' woman. In her mind, this is not Neil's fault, it's all on Carmen.
The evening is a smashing success - until the killer strikes. Neil ducks out to take a call from Nick and sees Carmen's body lying in the alley.
"What happens with Carmen is a horrible tragedy,"says Latham. "The fact that Carmen died the day before Dru was to come before the judge makes it appear that someone in the Winters family is guilty. No one in the family wants to believe that anybody could hurt another human being, but they will privately have suspicions about each other."
And the killer is...? "Not one actor knows who the killer is," says LML. "In all my years of working, I have never protected a secret this carefully. Ever."

Some Davetta Sherwood fans are still reeling over Y&R's decision to switch Lilys, especally in the middle of a major Winters family storm. But it's business as usual for Michael Graziadei (Daniel). "It's awesome," he says of having his former co-star back, "I love Christel (Khalil). We had good chemistry. She's a wonderful actress and a wonderful person."

Newcomer Scott Seymour (Billy Abbott) is exiting The Young and the Restless after only four months with the top-rated CBS soap. As expected, the sudden departure has set off a
wave of speculation among fans, including at least one recast theory.
Fans have had a lukewarm reaction to Seymour since his August 15th debut in Genoa City. Seymour, the ninth actor to tackle the role of Billy, had only limited pre-Y&R television experience. The actor's acting portfolio included several guest spots on FOX's primetime soap, "The OC" and FX's series, "The Shield." The actor also produced and starred in the film "1975."
While fans seemed less than enthusiastic about Seymour's work as Billy, a Y&R spokesperson denies that the actor was let go for that reason.
"Scott was specifically brought in to jumpstart the new, contentious storyline between Kay and Jill," explained Y&R's head writer/executive producer Lynn Marie Latham.
Fans, however, have their own theories about why Seymour was let go: the possible return of Emmy winner David Tom.
Tom was a fixture in Genoa City from 1999 through 2002. For his work on The Young and the Restless, Tom won a Daytime Emmy in 2000 in the Outstanding Younger Actor field. The actor also received a nomination in the same category the following year.
A Y&R spokesperson had no comment on the rumors of Tom's return. Seymour, meanwhile, will last air on November 20th.
