Ze względu na brak spoiler'ów na TVP, podaję opisy odcinków po angielsku. dotyczy to odcinków, które pokaże TVP1 w dniach 1-4 września.
1.09.2008
Odc. 3982 + 3983 (4197 + 4198)
When Jackie returns home, Massimo asks her about the test results. Jackie tells him that Nick is the father. Mass asks if she's sure. She tells him that they ran the test twice, so there's no doubt. He asks about his sons. She tells him how Nick was stunned, while Ridge walked out. Mass is upset, since he knows how Ridge and Brooke wanted this to be Ridge's child. "They were wrong," Jackie says. Mass asks where her sympathy is. She in turn asks where his perspective is. She in fact does sympathize after seeing Brooke feel humiliated reading the results in front of herself, Nick, Ridge, Stephanie and Eric. Mass is angry that Eric was there. Jackie says he and Stephanie came to support Brooke, but that only made Brooke more mortified when she read the results. Still, right now she wants to focus on what this means for
them: they're going to be grandparents! Mass however thinks this is a catastrophe: it will tear Ridge's marriage apart and pit brother against brother, tearing this family apart! Jackie thinks he should support their son, but he asks how he can choose one son over the other. Jackie advises him to choose his grandson, who can have the life with his father than Nick never had. Mass says he can't give the child a life with his father. Would he support Nick if that's what he wanted, Jackie asks? Mass asks if that's what Nick wants. She tells him that Nick is on his way over to see Brooke now.
Mass guesses that Brooke is devastated. Jackie can think of worse fates for Brooke than the father of her child wanting to be with her. Mass points out that Brooke would lose Ridge. Who has three children, Jackie reminds him. And those kids finally accepted Brooke, Mass points out. Jackie finds it ironic that Massimo, who not too long ago tried to push Brooke out of that house, is supporting her. Back then, Mass explains, Brooke was driving a wedge into his family. But that's nothing compared to the even bigger rift that will happen if Dominick pursues a relationship with Brooke. Jackie argues that Nick has as much right to be happy as Ridge. Wrecking his brother's marriage will not make Nick happy, Mass says. Jackie says Nick shouldn't be made to feel guilty for being a father. It has nothing to do with being a father, Mass says. It's how it happened, just when he thought his family was coming together. And it will, Jackie tells him, since Brooke and Nick will be able to give their child the life they couldn't give Nick. Would he deny them that? Not if it would grant him the peace he spent his whole life looking for, Mass says. But it won't: regardless who raises this child, he says, both his sons will be hurt.
Aboard the Shady Marlin, Ridge comes by to see Nick, who isn't happy with the way Ridge and Brooke have everything already mapped out for them to raise HIS son. Ridge tries to present it to Nick as a challenge. He admits the test results weren't what he wanted, but that hasn't changed his commitment to Brooke and this baby. The only thing is, Nick reminds him, the child is his, not Ridge's. Ridge assures Nick that he'll ge visitation and won't be shut out of his son's life. Nick however can't just wave goodbye to his responsibilities and let Brooke and Ridge sail off into the sunset with his son. While he doesn't intend to come between Ridge and Brooke, he can't turn his back on his child. Since he didn't have a dad growing up, he refuses to put his son in the same position. Ridge reminds Nick how he was raised by a man who wasn't his biological father, and he has no regrets about that. "Eric didn't know you weren't his son," Nick points out. Ridge insists he can raise this child as his own, since he's married to the child's mother. Nick again says he won't interfere with that. But he is, Ridge reminds him. Nick wonders if Ridge just expects him to disappear from the picture completely. Ridge suggests to Nick that they both want to make the best of a very bad situation. "For who? For my son? Or you?" Nick asks.
Ridge doesn't think he's being selfish and tells Nick that he could have come here to lay him out. However, he thinks they can discuss things. Nick refuses to make deals with his kid. Ridge says he's talking about adoption. Nick tells him not to even mention that word again. He tells Ridge that this child is his flesh and blood, and he's not going to give him up. He suggests Ridge go home to Brooke. Ridge asks Nick to consider that he promised Brooke that they'd get through this. Nick says Brooke is lucky, since most men would have left her once they heard those results. Ridge doesn't think it's luck, since it's about making the right choices for his family -- but he doesn't think Nick cares. Nick says he's done apologizing, and he isn't dumping his responsibilities. "I told you I'd leave you and Brooke alone. But there's a child involved now and it's mine. It sort of changes things," he says. "Not for us," Ridge says. He promises Nick that he and Brooke will figure this out and come through it just fine. With that, Ridge leaves.
Meanwhile, at Ridge's house, Stephanie tries to convince Brooke how trying to raise Nick's child with Ridge will only put Ridge's whole family at each other's throats for the rest of his life. Brooke senses Stephanie is blaming her for the demise of the Marones and is telling her she can stop that by ending her marriage. Stephanie tells Brooke that the marriage will fall apart anyway, since Nick isn't going to abandon his child and let her and Ridge raise it on their own. Broke thinks there is nothing wrong with her and Ridge raising the baby and is sure they can show Nick that in time, even if it's a bit awkward at first. Stephanie thinks it will cause excruciating pain every time that family gets together, until everybody will want to avoid each other. She knows Ridge wants to adopt this baby for Brooke, and she even admits that Brooke loves Ridge. However, she doesn't want to see this family end up with nothing but unhappiness and disappointment. Brooke tells Stephanie to have faith in Ridge. Stephanie says she's putting her faith in Brooke, to prove her love for Ridge by giving him up. She's sure Ridge will always see his brother every time he looks at that baby boy, so she pleads with Brooke to show her love for Ridge and save him from that. She thinks Brooke is thinking of herself with this fairy tale life she's imagined for her and Ridge. Brooke says she knows it's not a fairy tale, but she, Ridge and Nick will work things out. Then everything will be fine. No, Stephanie says, it won't - and she should know.
Brooke asks what Stephanie means. Stephanie says she knows what it's like to want something so badly that you just hold onto it. But eventually, it all evaporates. She thinks Brooke's life with Ridge ended once she read those test results, just as Stephanie's with Eric ended when she told him that he wasn't Ridge's father. She then admits that when she found out she was pregnant with Ridge, she knew there was a chance that Massimo was the father. But she pushed it out of her mind, just as Brooke's pushing Nick aside. Suddenly, Brooke realizes: Stephanie lied when she told Ridge and Eric that she never thought that Massimo could be the father. Stephanie admits that she had doubts and ignored them, even though she has never said this to anyone. "Why are you telling me this now?" Brooke asks. Stephanie suggests that had she given Massimo the chance to be a father, things would have worked out differently. But she didn't. "Because you didn't love him," Brooke says. That's true, Stephanie says: she recalls how she thought she and Eric loved each other, so she convinced herself that everything would work out. And it did, for a long time - but then it all came back. Brooke thinks her situation is different, as she's not lying to anyone. Except herself, Stephanie suggests. She knows Nick loves Brooke and wants to raise their child with her, but they can only do that if she proves her love for Ridge by letting him go. She prays that Brooke has the strength to make that sacrifice. Brooke looks at her, thinking.
Bridget and Ozzy drop by to see Eric at the beach house. As Eric invites them in, they say they have some big news. They tell Eric (who insists Oz call him by his first name and not "Mr. Forrester") that they are engaged and ask for his blessing. Eric points out that Bridget is old enough to make her own decisions. Oz admits that's true, but he wants to do this the right way, to show Eric how important their commitment is to each other. While it may sound corny, he thinks he and Bridget clicked from the time they met. That's why he wants to learn even more about her, to hold onto her for the rest of his life and to make her happy. Eric is pleased to hear Oz consider Bridget's happiness, but he worries that this all seems so sudden. He doesn't think getting to know someone is a reason to get married. Ozzy agrees, but he also thinks that what he and Bridget share is very rare. That's why he wants to marry her and to always have her there by his side. Bridget assures him that she will be. Oz then asks Eric what he thinks. Bridget asks Eric is he is OK with this. Eric admits that Oscar sounds sincere, but he has to question their timing. He doesn't want them rushing into anything after all the two of them have been through - Oz with Macy, her with Deacon... Bridget asks him not to bring Deacon into this, but Eric is just grateful that she didn't get sucked in by Sharpe again. Turning down Deacon's proposal helped with that, Ozzy says. Eric is stunned that Deacon proposed. Had he known that, he would never have agreed to back Deacon's company. Sensing the tension between them, Oz steps outside so father and daughter can talk.
Bridget tells Eric that they came for his blessing, not to argue. She asks why he brought up Deacon. He admits that he's been concerned about Deacon's interest in her: and now to learn that he proposed. Bridget points out that she already said yes to Ozzy, who Eric admits is a better choice than Deacon. Then will he give them his blessing, she asks? Eric tells her that he's pleased that she can open up to Ozzy and make this kind of a commitment. Bridget assures him that she's not jumping into this marriage, and that she and Oz will have a long engagement. Eric is glad to hear that, as he doesn't want her rushing into this marriage just to distance herself from Deacon. Bridget assures him that this isn't about Deacon. Yes, Deacon expected her to accept his proposal, but she knows how she feels. Getting back to what Ozzy said about her, she feels the same about him, without question. She has no doubts about that or her plans for her future. Speaking of her future, Eric asks about school. She assures him that she's not dropping out, since Ozzy respects her goals. Eric doesn't think he can argue with that. Bridget assures her dad that Ozzy is good for her. As she hugs him, she says that he'll soon see that this will be one of the best decisions she's ever made.
Stephanie visits Nick aboard the Shady Marlin to offer her support. Nick reminds her that he turned her down in the past, but she thinks the situation is different this time. Now, he's the father of Brooke's child, so she suggests he persuade Brooke to start a family with him. Nick reminds her that to do that means asking Brooke to end her marriage, but Stephanie says that she's just trying to give him the chance to know his son. Nick points out that couples share custody all the time, but Stephanie doesn't think that will work with Ridge. With him, she says, it's all or nothing, and she doesn't think Ridge's marriage could survive any other way. Nick asks why she says that. Because he and Brooke now share a bond she says, one that neither he nor Ridge can ignore. Nick reminds Stephanie how Brooke and Ridge have stuck by each other, even after learning the test results. But she has a bond with Ridge, he reminds her, one that he still has no intention of interfering with. He doesn't think anything has changed between Brooke and Ridge, but Stephanie reminds him that everything else has. She thinks this situation will test the marriage to the limit.
Nick points out that Ridge has stuck by Brooke so far where most men probably wouldn't have. He thinks the two of them know what they're up against. Stephanie notes that he seems to think he knows Ridge and Brooke pretty well. He thinks he knows what their marriage means to them. Stephanie doesn't think either Brooke or Ridge has properly thought out how difficult this is going to be. Nick says he has no intention of making it any harder on them. Stephanie asks how he would feel if it was HIS wife carrying another man's child, especially knowing that the other man loved her? That's what he thinks is going on here, since she is sure he loves Brooke. She then asks how he would feel to know that those two people would always be connected because of that child. She reminds Nick that this is his baby, but Ridge doesn't realize that. In time, however, she thinks those facts will cause Ridge to struggle every day of that marriage.
Ridge is in his bedroom, looking at a photo of him and Brooke, when a lingerie-clad Brooke comes in. She tells him about Stephanie's visit. Ridge frets that his mom is interfering and is stressing his wife out, but Brooke tells him not to worry. Ridge promises that they'll get through this and thinks they should get some sleep. Ridge climbs under the covers. As Brooke joins him, she senses something wrong. Ridge says he's just beat as he lies down. Brooke lies down too, but she notices after a few minutes that Ridge is still awake. He tells her about his visit with Nick, and how Nick wouldn't even listen to him. Brooke thinks Nick just needs time, although she has to concede that they can't force him to make a decision. Ridge laments how this is their life, their family, their marriage; so why should Nick have a say? Brooke points out that it's not just Nick, but also Jackie and Stephanie, but she's sure they can convince them all in time. Seeing that he's still bothered over this, Brooke tells him that he can open up to her any time he's upset. Ridge says he's not upset, just stressed. He recalls when Dr. Paxson called them to say that the results were in. He hoped that would be the end of all the drama in their lives. He hoped they could relax, but now he doesn't know if that can ever happen. He holds her.
Brooke asks Ridge is Stephanie discouraged him. Ridge says no, he's still ready to take on the world to make this work. She doesn't want to cause a rift in his family, but he thinks his family will accept everything once they see how much they love each other, and how much they will love this baby. After all they've been through, he won't let anyone take their happiness from them. Brooke then turns to Ridge and tries to make love to him, but Ridge pulls away and says that he can't. Brooke asks if it's something she did, but Ridge says that's him. He's sorry, but he just can't. Brooke looks at her belly and realizes it's the baby. Ridge says this makes no sense, because he's confident in his love for her, and in their ability to raise this child. "But you can't make love to me?" she asks. Ridge thinks it might be just today, from all the stress. But what if it isn't, Brooke asks? She reminds him that all she wanted was to make him happy. Ridge reminds her that he promised that they could get through this together. While it might be tough, he won't let this beat them. He takes her in his arms and hugs her.

n Brooke's office at Logan Designs, Ridge looks at a photo of him and Brooke on her desk. As he's thinking, Oscar drops by. Ridge thanks Oz for coming so fast. Oz says it sounded important when Ridge called, and he thinks he knows why: he guesses that Ridge thinks he's... "The right man for the job," Ridge says. He thinks Oz has a lot to offer, so he wants him to prove it by throwing a party. For the family, Oz asks? The family can come, Ridge says, but what he really wants are lots of sexy models and press coverage. A confused Oz realizes that he and Ridge aren't on the same page, because he thought this was about his engagement to Bridget. Actually, Ridge says, he's talking about a job at Logan Designs for Oz - but now that he knows what Oz is up to, he's having second thoughts. Oz guesses that Ridge, like Eric, thinks things are moving too fast, so he assures Ridge that he and Bridget are planning a long engagement. More importantly, he knows what Deacon did to Bridget and assures Ridge that he's NOT Deacon. Convinced that Oz will treat Bridget right and take things slow, Ridge says that he's happy for them. He then outlines the job he has in mind for Oz in promotions, complete with a corner office and lots of perks. Oz bets that the job was Massimo's idea. Yes, it was Mass' ideas to make the offer, Ridge confirms. Even so, they all have a lot of confidence in Oz, so what does he say?
At Forrester, Eric and Thorne await the arrival of the Sharpe Designs crew. Thorne guesses they're both dreading this moment. Yes, Eric says. However, he knows that he has to be appear to be completely cooperative with Deacon or risk alienating Bridget again. Thorne thinks that Amber, Sally and Deacon will all try to get under his dad's skin as soon as they arrive, so he warns Eric not to let them. Just as the two men step into Eric's office, the elevator opens. Deacon wheels himself out of the elevator, with Sally and Amber right behind. Seeing the empty corridor, Sally wonders why there's no one to announce their arrival. Deacon admits that he too would welcome some familiar faces right about now. When Amber bets that Eric is in his office, Sally hopes he's not thinking of more ways to sabotage Deacon's plans. Just then, Eric and Thorne come out of Eric's office. Eric welcomes the Sharpe crew to Forrester and suggests that he show them to their company's new home. With Thorne right behind, he takes them to Amber's old office. Amber complains that this one office is too small for the three of them, but Thorne points out that there's nothing else available. Deacon says that this will be fine. Sally agrees and thinks they should make it official, so she hands Deacon a plaque of a "Sharpe Designs" logo she had made. After the way he created this company to raise her spirits, she thought it was the least she could do. Amber takes the plaque, places it on the door and declares that Sharpe Designs is up and running!
Sally declares that they're all winners with this company as a Forrester subsidiary. She asks Eric if he agrees. Before he can answer, Bridget walks in. She's glad to see them getting settled, since she's here to set up some equipment for Deacon's physical therapy. Deacon assures her that they'll find some space, despite the tight quarters. He's all for anything that will get him out of this chair, so he's grateful to Bridget for working with him. Amber quips how convenient it is that Bridget just happened to land a spot in rehab. Actually, Bridget explains, she asked to supervise Deacon's therapy as part of an independent study. Deacon thanks her, letting her know that he appreciates everything she's done for him.
Eric excuses himself and Thorne, saying that they need to get back to work. Bridget tells her dad that she'll stop by before she leaves and resumes talking to Deacon about his therapy. Eric and Thorne leave and stop in the hall. Neither of them is happy to have heard that Bridget is helping Deacon with his physical therapy, as they fear that Mr. Sharpe might find a way to manipulate that. That is, Eric adds, unless he can come up with an idea to keep that from happening.

Neither of them is happy to have heard that Bridget is helping Deacon with his physical therapy, as they fear that Mr. Sharpe might find a way to manipulate that. That is, Eric adds, unless he can come up with an idea to keep that from happening.
Soon after, the Sharpe Designs crew calls it a day. As they leave their office, they run into Eric, who's surprised to see them leaving already. Deacon and Sally assure him that they'll do him proud. Deacon looks at Bridget and says that he's going to make HER proud too, to thank her for all the help she's given them. She believed in them, even after they gave her nothing but grief, so he attributes all their success to her. Amber takes that as their cue to leave, so Bridget follows them onto the elevator. Eric then returns to his office and calls up Ridge, who is still at Logan Designs with Ozzy. He asks Ridge if he hired Oscar yet. Not yet, Ridge says, wondering how his dad even knew about Ozzy. Eric says that he heard from Massimo and will explain it all later. Right now, however, he needs Oz over at Forrester. Ridge guesses this has to do with Deacon and Bridget. Yes, Eric confirms: he needs Ozzy here to keep Deacon from getting to Bridget again.
At Ridge's Bel Air mansion, Brooke is looking at the same photo of her and Ridge that Ridge was looking at earlier. She's surprised when the doorbell rings and it's Jackie, who sees how sad and upset Brooke is. She guesses that something is wrong and asks Brooke if it's her marriage, already starting to fall apart. Brooke is silent, so Jackie asks her to please open up. Brooke explains about Ridge's inability to "perform" last night, because she is carrying his brother's child. Jackie is sorry, but she thinks this is only the first sign of the strain that's on Brooke's marriage - and she fears it will only get worse. Brooke says that married couples often go through something like this, but Jackie thinks it's more complex than that. Not to make it even more complicated than it already is, she predicts that Brooke will not be able to hold her marriage together for long. Brooke doesn't want to hear this. Jackie says she doesn't want to say it either, but she will because she cares for Brooke like a daughter. That's why it tears her up to see Brooke in such pain over her marriage when there's an alternative: Nick. Brooke reminds Jackie how important her marriage is to her. Jackie says she knows that, but she also knows that Nick is more in love with Brooke than ever. She realizes how hard this is on Brooke, but she fears it will only get worse unless they find a way to change it.
Jackie assures Brooke that she's not criticizing her. She just wants to remind Brooke how special Nick was to her not too long ago, something she thinks Brooke has forgotten. Brooke says that she still thinks Nick is very special. Jackie thinks that's good, since she thinks Brooke and her son share some incredible memories of Nick bringing something to her life that no one else has. Brooke tells her to stop. Jackie guesses that Brooke is afraid to remember just how uncomplicated, how exciting it was. While she doesn't want to upset Brooke, she wants to remind her of what she shared with Nick in the past - and what they could share again if Brooke lets them. She assures Brooke that she wants to be her mother-in-law and to care for her like the daughter she never had. She thinks that Brooke deserves a wonderful life with a wonderful man. And not to say that Ridge isn't a wonderful man, Jackie thinks there is another man: the father of Brooke's child, who wants to be a devoted father and husband. Brooke cries out for her to stop, as she has a husband! But what kind of husband can he be if he can't make love, Jackie asks? She takes a sobbing Brooke in her arms and holds her, assuring her that everything will be all right.
At the Forrester mansion, Eric sits at the piano singing "The Christmas Song" while Stephanie lights some candles on the mantle. She then joins Eric by the piano and listens. Eric asks her to sing with him like they used to, but she's quick to remind him that HE sang, while SHE made the dogs howl. Eric tries to tell her she had a lovely voice. Stephanie doesn't buy his fib, but joins him anyway.
Their arms filled with gifts, Ridge and Brooke arrive at the mansion. As they come in the door, they hear Eric and Stephanie singing in the living room, so they silently watch, smiles on their faces, as the song winds down. Eric and Stephanie wish each other "Merry Christmas" and share a kiss. Ridge then announces him and Brooke with a big ""Ho-dee-ho-ho!" as they enter the room. Eric and Stephanie bid them a Merry Christmas and ask where the kids are. Brooke says they're out caroling with Rick but will be there soon. She then compliments Stephanie on the holiday decor. Ridge asks Eric and Stephanie if they still volunteer time at the homeless shelter. Eric confirms that's still a Forrester tradition, as Stephanie agrees that it's important to be especially nice to people this time of year. Ridge asks if she's referring to anyone in particular. Stephanie admits she's worried about what Sally's going through right now.
Sure enough, Sally sits alone in her dark apartment, listening to a recording of Macy singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" while looking through old photos. Tears come to her eyes as the photos - of Macy, as a child, with her and Adam through the years and at one of her weddings; and of her old friend Saul - only remind her what she's lost.
Outside Sally's apartment door, Darla and Thorne listen for any sounds inside. They call out Sally's name but get no answer. Darla tries the door and finds it unlocked, so they enter the dark apartment and find a saddened Sally reminiscing. Thorne tells her that he and Darla are on his way over to his mom's and asks her to join them, but Sally doesn't think she'd be good company. Even when Thorne offers to drive her back any time she wants to leave, Sally doesn't think she can do it. She thinks that being around families celebrating will only make her more aware of the emptiness in her heart. She urges the two of them to go on and asks Thorne to thank Stephanie for the invitation.
At the mansion, Samantha arrives. Sam thinks it's like old home week here and gives Stephanie a gift. Ridge asks Sam if that "old home week" feel means she's up for some football, but Sam thinks her heels might be a problem. Stephanie then suggests having some egg nog. As they head for the bowl, Ridge stops Brooke to ask if he's told her how beautiful she is. About a dozen times, she says, smiling. Ridge thinks about how people feel from the "Christmas Spirit": he tells Brooke that's how he feels every day because of her.
Next, Massimo, Jackie and Nick arrive. Mass thanks Eric and Stephanie for inviting them. He knows they've had their differences but is glad that they can put them aside for their families to share a "buon natale," or "natale allegro" (Italian for Merry Christmas). As Eric and Stephanie join in the sentiment, Thorne and Darla arrive. They're sorry to tell Stephanie that Sally's so depressed that she only wants to be alone tonight. Stephanie supposes she'll just have to go there and change Sally's mind.
Nick breaks out his guitar to play a song he wrote for tonight. Saying that it's nice to be in a family, he starts singing: "Lay your head and close your eyes, let your mind sleep tight. Soon your dreams will be beside, and all is ours on Christmas night. It's gonna be all right on Christmas night, I'm gonna hold your hand so tight in mine. I'll be there, I'll be everywhere, it's gonna be all right on this Christmas night. So, lay your head and close your eyes, let your mind sleep tight. Soon your dreams will be beside, and all is ours on this Christmas night." He wishes everyone Merry Christmas as they applaud.
At Sally's apartment, she's still listening to Macy singing. Hearing Macy sing, "Through the years we all will be together if the fates allow," she turns off the stereo. She looks up to see Stephanie enter, saying that Macy was right: they WILL all be together again. Sally thanks Stephanie for trying, but she doesn't think a pep talk will take away her pain. Stephanie says she still has a choice. To put on a nice smile and ignore the emptiness inside, Sally asks? No, Stephanie says, to open her heart again. Sally says she did that, and look where it got her. Stephanie reminds Sally that a lot of people care about her and that they all need family to love. And since Sally's family isn't here, she suggests Sally use her's instead. Sally appreciates Stephanie trying, but she thinks her old heart's been broken once too often. Stephanie reminds Sally that she's not alone and hands her a gift box. She then leaves. Soon after, Sally recalls Stephanie's last words that she's not alone. She opens the box and finds a heart-shaped locket with side by side photos of her and Stephanie. Sally's moved.
Back at the mansion, Ridge plays Nick's guitar and leads the guests in a chorus of "Deck the Halls." Soon after, they gather around a music box playing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." Brooke is sure the kids will love it. Stephanie returns and tells them that she couldn't convince Sally to come. Mass suggests that they take Christmas to Sally instead. Stephanie says that's a nice idea but thinks they have to respect Sally's wish to be alone. Nick suggests they open presents now. Jackie jokes that he sounds like a little boy, with Nick laughing that he IS. As they all laugh at Nick's reply, Stephanie suggests that Eric act like a little boy too and open his gift first. She leads him to a box and tells him to lift it up. Eric does and is thrilled to get a karaoke machine. He thanks Stephanie.
Just then, someone comes in the door: it's Sally, in a Santa suit! Stephanie welcomes her. Sally jokes that it meant getting both the Santa suit and herself out of mothballs, but she's glad to be here. She gives Darla a kiss. Stephanie walks over and tells Sally that she makes the perfect Santa, especially with her big heart. Speaking of hearts, Sally shows Stephanie that she's wearing her gift and thanks her. Everyone "awws" as the two women hug. Eric then proposes a toast. He starts off by saying how good it is to have them all together to share that intangible magic they call the "Christmas Spirit." He thinks that spirit is embodied in family, friends, tradition, and most of all, love, and that they should carry that spirit with them the rest of the year, too. He raises his glass to wish them all a Merry Christmas.
Inspired by the sentiment, Sally wants to get in on the act and try out Eric's new gift. As they turn the karaoke machine on, Sally hears the first notes and says that it's quite a "coinky-dink" that it chose "her song." She then launches into a jolly version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" that has the whole room smiling and laughing. Catching a break in the son, she says she can hear that old man Santa on his way now, baby, bringing a bagful of everything they all like. Everyone applauds.
The camera then pulls away to focus on the Christmas tree. It then fades into the Forrester living room, where B&B Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell stands with Ronn Moss [Ridge], Susan Flannery [Stephanie], John McCook [Eric] and Katherine Kelly Lang [Brooke]. Following in the tradition of past B&B Christmas episodes (and yes, it's been a while since they did one), John wishes viewers, on behalf of B&B, "From our family to yours..." The camera then pulls back to show a room filled with the cast and crew of The Bold and The Beautiful cheering, "Happy holidays!

At Forrester, Oscar meets with Eric. Ozzy asks Eric why Ridge suddenly stopped their meeting and sent him over here. Eric explains that they have a dangerous situation involving Deacon. He tells Ozzy about how Deacon's new company is going to be a Forrester subsidiary, which means Deacon will be close to Bridget often. Not to mention that Bridget is supervising Deacon's physical therapy, Oz adds. Eric guesses that Ozzy isn't any happier about that than he is, which is why he wants Ozzy's help to defuse this situation. Oz asks what he has in mind. Eric tells Oz that he wants him to work here in Forrester's promotions department. He thinks Oz's background makes him perfect for the job, plus he's willing to match any offer Ridge had made.Oz says he's flattered, but he doesn't think he'd fit in the suit-and-tie atmosphere here. Eric reminds Oz that this is a fashion house, so he admires diversity. And besides, Eric asks Oz, is he going to let their different styles keep him from doing what's best for Bridget? Oz is sure that Bridget knows the score with Deacon, but Eric worries that a master manipulator like Deacon knows how to push Bridget's buttons. That's why he wants Ozzy here, as a watchdog, to prevent that. Looking at it that way, Oz accepts Eric's offer.
At Deacon's house, Bridget installs safety bars in Deacon's shower. When she comes out, she sees that a depressed Deacon has stopped running an electrical stimulator over his legs. She scolds him, since it hasn't even been 10 minutes. Deacon doesn't see what the point is, since it won't help him walk again. Maybe not, Bridget says, but it does... Deacon doesn't want to hear it. Bridget asks what happened to the guy who was ready to start a new life yesterday? He got real after seeing all the handicapped additions to his home, he says. With all the safety bars and wheelchair ramps, he feels this might be permanent, so why doesn't she just leave and go see her fiancee? She's surprised. Deacon guesses she's worried about her course credits and offers to sign off on that. Bridget says all she wants is to see him out of a wheelchair and reminds him of his intention to keep going until she's wearing his ring. Deacon concedes that she's probably better off with the ring she has, since Oz can walk with her, carry her... and make love to her. She deserves a man that's whole, not a cripple like him that feels like a child. Bridget assures him that he's not a child. "I've got news for you. I'm no man," he says.
Bridget assures Deacon that he is a man and advises him to give it time. He tells her that he's been doing some reading, so he knows that he just might end up permanently in this chair. And he also might not, she reminds him. She tells him that lots of men in his condition have satisfying sex lives. Deacon finds that hard to believe based on a bunch of charts and doctors' pep talks. Bridget thinks that the best way to make this happen is to start with a little hard work, which Deacon takes to mean that he should shut up and get to it. With that, Bridget kneels down in front of his chair and starts massaging his legs. Deacon guesses she must have been a hell of a cheerleader. She says she was, but she hated the dorky outfits. Deacon bets she looked good in the tight skirt with the big pompons. LITTLE pompons, she corrects him. Deacon says he always liked her "pompons" and recalls how it was when they were married, with her body next to his. Bridget says he's close to crossing the line. And that's not all that happened just now, he says. She asks what he means, so he says that he was wrong when he said he'd never be a man. Bridget says she knows, and he'll see that one day. Not one day, he laughs: NOW! "Houston, we have ignition," he cries out, laughing. Bridget is a bit embarrassed, but Deacon's thrilled... and he owes it all to her. Still a bit embarrassed, Bridget smiles back at him.
Brooke stops by Massimo's office for what she thinks is a business meeting about Logan Designs, but Mass tells her this isn't about business. Brooke tells him to go ahead and tell her how low she is and how his sons would be better off not knowing her. Mass is sure she's already berated herself enough for what's happened and has no plans to do so himself. Instead, he wants to talk about his grandson, Specifically, he wants her to give the baby the life he deserves, with Nick. Brooke is glad he's being candid about what he thinks is best for the baby, but she thinks that the best thing is for her and Ridge to raise him as their own. Mass reminds Brooke of the heritage this child will have, but Brooke points out that Ridge shares that heritage. Mass says there is more at stake, since Nick will be forced to watch his child from a distance. Brooke says that Nick will still be part of the baby's life, but Mass says that will not take away the resentment in Nick's heart. Brooke promises to help Nick, but Mass is skeptical that it could work. He recalls how it was when he found out Ridge was his son, but he kept that a secret from Ridge at Stephanie's request. How it pained him every time he saw one of his own mannerisms in Ridge. Is that what she wants for Nick? Of course not, Broke says.
And what about Ridge, Mass asks, who will be forced to live with a reminder of his wife's infidelity and his brother's betrayal? He doesn't think it would be possible for Ridge to love that child unconditionally. Brooke thinks it has to be possible, since she and Ridge are meant for each other. Mass is sure she believes that, but he's sure that will change, especially as the rift between his two sons grows. Brooke thinks he's not giving Ridge and Nick enough credit, but he thinks she's giving them too much. He recalls how proud he was to have his family together at his wedding. But now, he fears this could drive that clan apart unless Brooke acts. Even if it means giving up the love of her life, she asks? Mass knows her heart is with Ridge. But for the sake of her baby and its father, he thinks her future must be with Dominick. Brooke looks at Mass as she considers his words.
see Ridge. Ridge says he wants to continue their earlier conversation. Nick thought he made it clear that he won't let his son be raised by a step-father. Ridge agrees, which is why he had his lawyer draw up some papers. He hands the papers to Nick, who's stunned to see that they're adoption papers. He thought he was clear that he didn't want to talk about adoption. Ridge doesn't want to bring it up, either, but his marriage is on the line. Nick asks Ridge what happened to all his and Brooke's magical plans to hold their marriage together, even though this isn't his kid? Ridge tells Nick that he tried to hold his wife in his arms, even with another man's baby inside of her - but he just couldn't do it. And adopting the baby will change that, Nick asks? Maybe it will, Ridge says, since it will make him feel like this baby really belongs to him. Nick thinks that Ridge is delusional if he thinks a piece of paper will turn all this around. No matter what, that baby will have his blood in his veins, not Ridge's. Ridge asks Nick to read it over, but Nick insists that there will be no adoption.
Ridge says that he knows Nick hates the idea of giving up his son, but... "But what? I owe you?" Nick asks. Yes, he admits, he does, since it's his fault that things went this far. He agrees that Ridge shouldn't have to pay for that, but he refuses to sacrifice his child. Just then, Brooke comes up to Nick's door and overhears Ridge and Nick talking. She listens as Ridge promises to give the boy a great life as part of his family. Nick thinks that will just be the kind of lie he and Ridge both lived with their entire lives. Ridge asks Nick not to fight him, since he will go to court on this. And he'll lose, Nick says. Ridge says he loses either way. If he fights for his marriage, he goes to war with his brother. If he steps aside, he loses the woman he loves. He doesn't know what the hell to do! Just then, Brooke comes in and tells Ridge not to worry, because she knows exactly what she has to do.
At the hospital, Bridget talks to her advisor, Dr. Brauer, about her working with Deacon as part of her physical therapy elective. She tells the doctor that Deacon is doing better since the surgery, and he even got aroused during a leg massage. Dr. Brauer says that could come from increased circulation in Deacon's legs, but Bridget says that he felt something, too. The doctor thinks that's good, since it's important for male patients to know they haven't lost their manhood. Bridget reminds the doctor that she was married to Deacon and asks if that's a problem. The doctor doesn't think so. For one thing, she points out to Bridget how she's motivating Deacon. Bridget still wonders if Deacon would be better off with someone more objective. Dr. Brauer says she will reassign Bridget if she wants, but she thinks this is a good opportunity for her to learn to emotionally support a patient without getting emotionally involved. Bridget senses that Dr. Brauer thinks she should keep trying. "Deacon is making progress, and so are you," the doctor says.
Bridget then drops by Oscar's apartment and finds him working on a surprise romantic dinner for her. Bridget asks why he didn't tell her he was making special plans. It's not special, Oz says, since this is how he intends to treat her every night, now and when they're married. Bridget's impressed by his ambition and offers to help, but he tells her to just relax. As he starts to work, he asks about Deacon's therapy. Bridget doesn't think he'd be interested, but he wants to hear about her work. She says that Deacon is improving. Oz is pleased, since that means Sharpe will be walking in no time.
Bridget tells Ozzy that Dr. Brauer thinks she's helping Deacon by motivating him and helping him work through his frustration. Oz hopes Deacon doesn't take that frustration out on her, but Bridget says that's normal in therapy. But this isn't normal, Oz says, since Deacon's only in that chair because Eric shot him. Still, Bridget says, it'll take a lot of work to get Deacon out of the chair. But even with that work, she's sure she can be objective and won't let this turn into something more with Deacon. All she intends to do is be objective in helping Deacon rebuild his body. Oz asks if Deacon can feel anything. She says he has basic reactions, without mentioning Deacon's arousal. Oz takes to mean that he's responding to stimulation. Bridget says they don't have to talk about this. Oz points out that he believes she can handle Deacon. Still, this doesn't thrill him, so he wants them to be open with each other about it. Bridget agrees and hugs Oz, but her expression isn't very convincing.
Massimo visits Stephanie at the mansion and tells her about his talk with Brooke. He hopes he convinced Brooke that she can't raise Dominick's child with Ridge, since it will hurt the family. What about Ridge, Stephanie asks? Since Nick won't accept adoption, Mass doesn't see how Ridge could handle watching his wife raise a child with his brother. He just hopes Brooke is strong enough to leave Ridge. If she isn't, and Ridge fights this, Mass fears Brooke will just deny the problem by covering their doubts with sex and romance. Stephanie thinks Brooke will do the right think as long as she's encouraged, not harassed. Mass assures her that he didn't harass Brooke, since he feels sorry for the position she's in. Still, he won't let his family get dragged into this. Stephanie thinks Brooke is a smart young woman who won't let this baby cause tension and dissention. But even so, she doesn't think Brooke will just jump into a decision to leave Ridge, who she loves so much that she would give her life for him. If Brooke loves Ridge that much, Mass says, then she'll do the right thing and give him up.
In Nick's office, Brooke tells Nick and Ridge that this arguing has to stop. She has to do something about the crisis this family is in. Ridge says this isn't her fault, but she thinks they're all consumed by this baby. That's why she wants the two of them to get away for a while. She wants to celebrate New Year's with her husband at the family's Big Bear cabin, so they can get some perspective - and she wants to leave tonight. Ridge tells her it's snowing there, but she thinks they needs this chance to regroup and won't take no for an answer. Ridge wonders if a trip to the cabin will change anything, but she thinks they need this time, a romantic night together that they can always remember.
Nick stands off to the side thinking as Ridge tells Brooke that he doesn't want to disappoint her. Then say yes to this, she asks, a new year and a fresh start. Since it seems to mean so much to her, Ridge agrees. Brooke gives him a hug and thanks him. She then says she's going to go home to pack some things. "This is what we need. All of us. You'll see," she assures him. She then turns to leave. Ridge watches her go out the door as Nick still stands by his pinball machine, thinking.
Soon after, Massimo finds Ridge in Nick's office. If he came to talk about Brooke, Ridge tells Mass, forget it. Actually, Mass tells him, he has already had an amicable conversation with Brooke about this. Ridge angrily tells Massimo to leave Brooke alone! Mass swears that he didn't harass her. All he did was ask her to consider the impact that this child will have on their family. Ridge is angry that Mass basically told Brooke to end their marriage. It's not just about them, Mass reminds him. It's also about Nick and this child. Ridge says that he and Brooke know what's at stake, so all they need is to be left alone to figure this out. Mass says he and Stephanie just want to help, if Ridge will only give them a chance. No wonder Brooke is so anxious to get away, Ridge says! Mass asks what he means, so Ridge tells him about his and Brooke's plans to go up to Big Bear for the holiday. Mass thinks running away won't diffuse the tension this situation is causing. Ridge says that Mass is the one causing the tension and orders him to stop, now! Mass says that when they return, the problem will still be there. Brooke will still be carrying his brother's child. And the two of them will deal with that, Ridge says! And even if someone like his mom convinces Brooke to leave him, he won't let her do that!
Brooke stops by the mansion to tell Stephanie about her and Ridge's plans to go to the cabin. Stephanie seems disappointed, since she'd hoped her last talk had an effect on Brooke. It did, Brooke says. That's why SHE planned this getaway, for her and Ridge to have time alone. Stephanie can't believe that they're running away and hiding their problems in romance. Actually, Brooke says, she just wants one last romantic, perfect night with her husband before she walks away from him. Is that so much to ask for? Stephanie seems surprised that Brooke has chosen to leave Ridge. Brooke says this is the most difficult decision she's ever made. But it's the right one, Stephanie says. Brooke says she's learned from this that you can't always follow your heart or expect love to always win. She realizes that her desire for Ridge won't outweigh the effect this baby will have on the Marone family. She just wants one last chance to remember what she had. Stephanie tells her that Nick and Ridge will someday appreciate this decision, one she honestly didn't think Brooke had it in her to make. Brooke says she always wanted what was best for Ridge. She just didn't think she'd have to leave him to prove that. Stephanie says she'll do fine. "God help me tonight," Brooke says.

Jackie drops by Nick's office. Nick tells her about Ridge's desperate visit earlier, including Ridge bringing adoption papers for him to sign. Jackie thinks it's absurd for Ridge to expect Nick to give up his child, but Nick admits that Ridge is in a tough spot. Jackie asks how Brooke is. Not too well after walking in on him and Ridge arguing, Nick replies. Jackie bets that gave Brooke pause. Enough pause for her to want to go to Big Bear to celebrate New Year's with Ridge, Nick says. Jackie is surprised that they'd go on a holiday, but Nick senses that Brooke has something else planned. Jackie asks what he means. Nick explains that Brooke told him how things would be different the next time he saw her. He's not sure what that means, but he thinks Jackie might after taking to Brooke recently. Jackie admits it's a difficult situation but wonders if they got through to Brooke about ending her marriage. Nick says he wouldn't have thought that could happen yesterday, but now he's not so sure. And if Brooke loves her husband and doesn't want to hurt him... "Then you and Brooke might be able to raise this baby together," Jackie says, suspecting Brooke sees no other way out. Nick says that's what he's afraid of. Jackie tells him not to be afraid, as this is wonderful news.
Soon after, Jackie shows up at the Forrester mansion with a gift of champagne for Stephanie. And she has one more gift, she adds, some wonderful news. Stephanie thinks it's early to be toasting New Year's, but Jackie felt the need to acknowledge the new era that's about to begin in their lives. Stephanie asks what she means. Jackie explains that Nick told her about Brooke walking in on his argument with Ridge. And that's good news, Stephanie asks? Yes, Jackie says, since Brooke may be leaving Ridge. Stephanie thinks Jackie would like that. "Wouldn't you?" Jackie asks. Actually, Stephanie says, she'd have accepted the baby had it been Ridge's, as a means to pull her family together. "But it's a blessing for my family, instead," Jackie says. That is, Stephanie says, if Brooke raises the baby with Nick. Jackie guesses that she's right that Brooke is leaving Ridge and thinks that calls for a toast. Stephanie isn't in the mood: she doesn't see the need to celebrate that it's over, just when Ridge and Brooke are finally happy. Jackie prefers to see it as a beginning for both their families. Stephanie admits Nick will be a good father. And Ridge will be a good uncle, Jackie says. Stephanie thinks that might take a while, but Jackie thinks it can happen with their help. She asks Stephanie to accept that this is for the best, since Stephanie wants Brooke out of her family as much as Jackie wants Brooke in her's.
Ridge drops by Eric's office for some advice. He tells Eric how Stephanie and Massimo are giving Brooke a hard time about her pregnancy. Even though Brooke says it's not a problem, he can tell it upsets her. Eric offers to talk to Stephanie, but Ridge thinks he and Brooke have to work this out on their own. He tells Eric how Brooke walked in on him and Nick arguing earlier. He's sure that upset her, too. And now, she wants to go up to Big Bear for New Year's. Eric doesn't think that's a bad idea, but Ridge has a funny feeling about it. Eric asks why. Ridge admits that Brooke's talk about going to Big Bear to put the whole situation out of their minds bothers him. He points out how Brooke had the guts to face this entire situation, including telling Stephanie and accepting the paternity results. And now she needs to get away? He fears that's a sign that Brooke has lost faith in him, especially after her seeing him go off on Nick today. Eric guesses that Brooke thinks she's doing Ridge a favor by backing away. Ridge reminds Eric how he almost lost Brooke once because she didn't believe in him. He won't let that happen again, especially over a child that should have been his. But it's not, Eric reminds him. Still, he thinks the commitment that Ridge and Brooke made to each other is the most important thing two people can share, so he urges Ridge not to let that go. Ridge says that he doesn't intend to.
Meanwhile, over at Ridge's house, Bridget tells Brooke about her engagement. Brooke is thrilled. Bridget's glad to hear that, since Eric thinks they're rushing into it. "Do you?" Brooke asks. No, Bridget says, since she and Ozzy love each other. That's all Brooke needs to hear to give Bridget her support. Bridget not really surprised, since Brooke has always followed her heart. Brooke however doesn't think she's a good example. If she's talking about the baby being Nick's, Bridget says, she doesn't think Ridge will let that affect their marriage. But it has, Brooke says. Even though Ridge is willing to raise this child as his own, she can't help but see how doing that would tear the Marone family apart. And even though Ridge is standing by her, she loves him too much to put her own happiness before his. She won't let this get to the point where it erodes their marriage. Bridget doesn't think that will happen, but Brooke thinks it might. She and Ridge both desperately believed this baby was his, but they were wrong. Now, it won't help things to pretend it doesn't matter. Bridget asks what's going on, since she thought Brooke and Ridge were planning a romantic trip to the cabin. They are, Brooke says, and it's going to be a wonderful celebration of New Year's. And when it's over, she and Ridge will start the next chapter of their lives, with her taking Hope away for a while.
What about Ridge, Bridget asks? Is she leaving him? Brooke says she's setting Ridge free. She knows he wants to be her knight in shining armor, but she can't expect him to forget about that one awful night in Puerto Vista. Bridget doesn't think Ridge sees the baby that way and can't believe her mom is just walking out on her marriage. Besides, she doesn't see Ridge letting his wife just walk out of his life. Brooke thinks Ridge is better off without her. She's done making excuses for her actions, and so is Ridge. Bridget says that's not what Ridge is doing, but Brooke thinks he's been doing it since the day they met. Bridget thinks her mom sounds like Stephanie. Brooke thinks Stephanie is just trying to protect her own son and Brooke's from growing up as Bridget did, in a divided family at each other's throats. Bridget points out that Stephanie was a part of that and could have stopped the fighting. Brooke says SHE is going to do that, by making sure Ridge is not at odds with his family over this child. Bridget reminds Brooke that Stephanie made Ridge choose sides, but Brooke says it's not about Stephanie. It's about her doing the right thing. Ridge has saved her in the past, and this is her chance to save him. If she's saying goodbye, Bridget asks, why the cabin? Brooke says that will give her one last chance to be with Ridge, a memory that she can cherish for the rest of her life.
Ridge comes in and sees the sad looks on Brooke and Bridget's faces. He asks what's going on. Brooke covers that they were just talking about Bridget's engagement. Ridge says that he heard about it from Ozzy and congratulates Bridget with a hug. Bridget thanks him. Seeing Brooke's tears, Ridge tells Bridget that she should be flattered, as Brooke didn't cry this much when they got engaged. Brooke says that was the happiest day of her life. Bridget tells Ridge that she just hopes she can love her husband as much as Brooke loves him. With that, she leaves. She then heads over to Nick's office to see how he's holding up. Nick says he's a bit battered, but seaworthy. Bridget says her mom has been getting an earful but hasn't been listening, at least not to her. Nick tells her not to get her sails up in a gale or she'll tip over. Bridget tells him to can the sailor talk and tell her what he's thinking. That Brooke is ending it with Ridge, he admits. Wouldn't he want that, Bridget asks? Nick says it's not his decision. He cares about Brooke and Ridge and hates what this is doing to them. No matter what he feels, he thinks Brooke's future is with Ridge and doesn't want to be responsible for jeopardizing that.
Meanwhile, Brooke and Ridge arrive at the cabin. They rush to get out of the cold and inside, where Brooke has called ahead to have everything arranged. Ridge laments that she prepared so well that he doesn't even have to chop fire wood. Brooke is sure they'll find something to do. Putting his hands on his wife's shoulders, Ridge admits it'll be good to have some quality time, especially after how tense things got in Nick's office. He even thought she had something else in mind for this trip. Brooke says that he and the rest of their lives are the only things on her mind tonight. The rest of their lives TOGETHER, Ridge says, hugging and kissing her.
Darla and Thorne stop by Sally's to wish her a Happy New Year. Clad in a football jersey with a double-zero and a low cut neckline, Sally bets that they expected to find her full of self-pity, so she's happy to say that she's fine. She was about to watch a football game, but she instead decides to pop the bottle Thorne and Darla brought and make some new year's resolutions. Darla says the only thing she wants to pop right now is her baby, because of how uncomfortable she's been. As Thorne helps Darla sit down, Sally says what Darla's feeling now is nothing compared to what's ahead. Thorne tells Sally that Darla's already nervous about that. Sally tells Darla not to worry: as she knows from having two kids, having a baby is natural, so she's volunteering to be Darla's coach. With her help, Sally is sure Darla's delivery will be perfect. Darla hopes that Sally's right, since her water just broke! Sally starts to panic, shouting that it's not possible. She hasn't had any contractions yet. Actually, Darla says, she has been a bit crampy all day. Hearing that, Thorne goes to call the doctor. Sally wants to call the paramedics, but Darla says she'll be fine if they drive. Thorne says they have to go. Darla reminds Sally of her promise to coach her, so Sally nervously finds Darla's purse and they head out the door.
At the hospital, Dr. Paxson is paged as the nurses await Darla's arrival. One nurse tells the other that this looks like a problematic delivery, since Ms. Einstein collapsed downstairs and needed oxygen and a gurney. The elevator door then opens, and the gurney is wheeled out - but it's Sally lying on it. Thorne and Darla are right behind her, with Thorne telling Sally to just relax and breathe. Sally keeps saying, "We're having a baby!" Darla assures her that everything will be fine. As Sally is wheeled away, Thorne puts his arm around Darla, and they both laugh at the sight of Sally on the gurney.
In the delivery room, Thorne checks on Darla, who wonders how Sally is. Thorne says he's not going anywhere, since he wants to be here for every minute of the birth, so he'll ask the nurse to check on Sally. Darla can't believe this is really happening and admits that she's a bit nervous. Thorne asks if he can do anything, but she says he's done so much already. He says that he's just getting started. Just then, Dr. Paxson arrives and asks Darla if she's ready to deliver this baby. Not without her coach, a voice from the door declares: it's Sally, blowing a whistle and telling Darla that she's back in the game. As Darla feels a contraction coming on, Sally asks the doctor to step aside and tells Darla to breathe like a dog. As Darla starts breathing, Sally urges her to pant like a Chihuahua, a great Dane and a Saint Bernard. As Sally starts to breathe along with Darla, Thorne and Dr. Paxson smile at the sight of the two women panting like dogs.
Eric stops by the mansion to see Stephanie, who's glad he came over. She needs to talk to him about Ridge. Eric tells her how Ridge came to see him earlier. She asks if Ridge mentioned the trip to the cabin. Eric wonders how she knew about that. Stephanie says she heard about it from Brooke. Eric tells her that Ridge suspects that Brooke is upset. Stephanie says she needs to tell him something: Brooke has made her decision and is ending her marriage. Eric can't believe it! Stephanie assures him that Brooke has thought this through, but he reminds her how she and Massimo rammed this idea down Brooke's throat. He bets that she must be thrilled, as this is what she wanted. Actually, Stephanie says, she's proud of Brooke for having the courage to make this difficult decision. Eric says she's not proud of Brooke: she's proud of herself for cajoling Brooke into this. Stephanie denies the charge, reminding him of all the times she failed to break Brooke and Ridge up over the years. Eric insists that Ridge doesn't want this and wonders what Stephanie did. Did she lay a guilt trip on Brooke? Stephanie says that she didn't have to convince Brooke, but she also didn't try and talk her out of it, either. Eric fears that this will tear Ridge apart. Doesn't Brooke see that? Of course she does, Stephanie says: that's why she took him up to the cabin for one last night together, leaving them with a memory to last them the rest of their lives.
Up at the cabin, Ridge says it's just gorgeous. Brooke thinks he's talking about the view, but he's talking about HER beauty, right here. Brooke looks out the window at the show and thinks it's like a curtain after a fashion show. She can picture it: The crowd is going wild out front. Backstage, it's all quiet. Then, after months of hard work and ours of chaos, the curtain comes down and it's over. Ridge likes that time, since it lets him enjoy his achievement before moving on to the next collection. Brooke says that's what she wants to do: enjoy this moment and not think about the future. Ridge says he knows she's worried about the baby. She tells him to just enjoy the moment. Ridge wonders what's going on with her. He wants to explain to her about his argument with Nick, but she says they came here to forget that. Then why is she talking about final curtains and not looking ahead, he asks? He assures her that no matter what she thinks, he can handle the situation with this baby, so he asks her to trust him to work this out. Brooke says there's nothing for him to do tonight. He starts to wonder if she's having doubts, maybe because of his mother or Massimo. She tells them that she's fine, and she just wants to enjoy this special moment. She promises to make him a dinner he'll never forget. Ridge asks if she knows how much he loves her. She says she does - and tonight, she's going to show him just how much she loves him.
As "Unforgettable" plays, Brooke asks Ridge to dance with her. As he puts his arms around him, she remembers all the times they danced like this. She always felt safe in his arms, trusting him to lead her and making her feel like there was no place else she'd rather be. Ridge assures her that she's right where she belongs. As the song continues, Brooke remembers the many times she and Ridge danced to this song. As the memories end, she holds Ridge tightly.
As the dance ends, Ridge says he has to apologize for letting her down. She says it doesn't matter what he said to Nick. He says that he's talking about the other night when he couldn't make love to her. No matter what he did then, he wants her to know that he loves every part of her, including the baby she's carrying. He recalls how she stood by him through the worst challenges in his life. Now, in the face of this challenge, he promises to stand right by her. And he has, she assures him. She has no doubts that he loves her. He reminds her how his mother and Massimo think that he can't raise this child, but he assures her that he can, because he's devoted to her and their family. Brooke agrees that they have to focus on the family. And that includes this baby, Ridge says, which is why he won't let it come between them. He intends to prove to her and the world that he has no doubts about her love for him. Nearly in tears, Brooke says it isn't that simple. She cries that she can't let him do this! Ridge asks what she means. She turns to face him and says that she's taking Hope tonight and leaving. "You're leaving me?" he asks. Yes, she says. Ridge however says she's wrong: she's not leaving.

Odc. 3988 + 3989 (4203 + 4204)
